The Red Hair Shanks Power
Shanks menjadi bajak laut yang hebat sekarang, dia sudah pernah mengalahkan Juraquille Mihawk, salah seorang dari Shichibukai dan akhirnya menjadi kawan. Dia didedikasikan oleh pihak pemerintah sebagai Yonkou dan dijuluki Shanks si Rambut Merah. Sebelumnya dia juga pernah bertempur melawan Kurohige, Marshall D. Teach sehingga mata kirinya terluka dan meninggalkan bekas luka.
Shirohige
Shanks kemudian muncul kembali pada cerita 234: Ingat Baik-Baik, setelah salah satu anggotanya, Rockstar berbicara dengan Edward Newgate alias Shirohige. Setelah menerima laporan dari Rockstar, Shanks bermaksud akan pergi bertemu dengan Shirohige.
Pada cerita 434:Si Rambut Merah dan Si Kumis Putih, Shanks sudah sampai ke kapal Shirohige setelah menembus garis pertahanan Angkatan Laut, dan bertemu dengan Shirohige (janggut putih), disinilah mereka membicarakan masa lalu mereka, termasuk terkuaknya kalau Shanks adalah murid Roger, tujuan Shanks sebenarnya adalah mencegah Shirohige untuk membunuh Kurohige (Marshall), sekarang Shirohige sedang mengutus Ace, komandan divisi 2 untuk mencarinya, Shanks meminta untuk menghentikan Portgas D. Ace. Tetapi ditolak dengan amarah oleh Shirohige, akhirnya mereka berdua saling berhadapan dan ketika senjata mereka berbenturan, langit di sekitarnya terbelah.
Kekuatan dan Keahlian
Hingga saat ini, belum diketahui gaya bertarung Shanks, tetapi dia diketahui memiliki senjata pedang (cutlass). Dia sudah dikenal menjadi orang yang kuat karena telah menjadi Yonkou dan sudah pernah mengalahkan pendekar pedang nomor satu, Juraquille Mihawk. Shanks dijuluki oleh anggota Shirohige sebagai "haki sang raja" karena ketika dia berjalan di kapal Shirohige, semua anggota Shirohige pingsan hanya karena ambisinya saja.
